Learning disability affects all communities including their services users, staff and volunteers. Therefore they wanted to ensure that all stakeholders were supported appropriately and that Diversity and Inclusion were embedded across the organisation.
Diverse Matters were asked to carry out a Diversity and Inclusion audit to assess good practice, areas for development, identify gaps and provide recommendations and guidance to enhance practice and develop a future Diversity and Inclusion strategy.
We have continued to work with Mencap to support them with Diversity and Inclusion development including equality impact assessment training and reviewing of diversity and inclusion learning. This work will support the organisation to ensure their practice in the provision of their services and support to staff and volunteers.
