Support for staff with learning disabilities often ‘ignored’ - Personnel Today

Two-thirds of employees with learning disabilities have not been asked about what they need to succeed at work, according to hospitality chain Hilton.

Its survey of 2,000 people, including 500 with learning disabilities such as Down’s syndrome and autistic spectrum disorder, found that 49% of those with learning disabilities felt they did not have the right support.

Women use silence to cope with microaggressions

Women are more likely to stay silent when they face microaggressions in the workplace, making toxic cultures harder to confront.

According to researchers, women are more likely to use coping strategies such as assuming someone’s comments are harmless, questioning their intent, or simply feeling powerless to report them.

Over in the US, Pennsylvania elects first openly trans mayor

 

Erica Deuso expressed pride in her historic achievement. “This victory isn’t about one person,” she stated. “It’s about what occurs when communities come together to prioritise progress over fear.
