King Charles honours British LGBTQ military personnel at new memorial

King Charles, the head of Britain’s armed forces, was joined by dozens of serving personnel and veterans at Oct 27’s dedication of the memorial, called “An Opened Letter”, at the National Memorial Arboretum in central Staffordshire.    Read more here

 

Racist incidents against UK nurses surge by 55%

The Royal College of Nursing reports a steep rise in racist incident reports by nurses, up 55% over three years. They call on government to stop anti-migrant rhetoric which they says emboldens racist behaviour.          Read more here

New Government announcement: Women’s Health Strategy to be renewed

Gender pay gap has shrunk by a quarter since 2015

The gender pay gap has narrowed significantly over the past decade, according to the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics.

In April 2025, the median hourly pay gap between men and women stood at 6.9%, down from 7.1% in 2024 (revised up slightly from the provisional figure of 7.0%). Men earned more than women in full-time employment across all occupational groups.  Read more here
