Hanan Kasmi is an experienced consultant and Equalities trainer. She has worked with marginalised communities for over 15 years specialising in race and gender. She has worked in local authority as an Equalities policy manager, a Co-Production and Equalities Advisor for a national charity, coordinated anti-racism art and drama projects and managed a major programme for young people at risk of exclusion. She recently led a £1.8million tampon tax funded women’s peer support programme for Mind across England and Wales, bringing together both the mental health and women’s sectors.
She has managed many projects including developing a toolkit of best practice for organisations working with marginalised women to develop peer support, increased Black, Asian and racially minoritised recruitment to lived experience leadership opportunities, as well as supporting organisations to embed equalities and foster a culture which values employees in all their diversity. She is an Agile accredited project manager whose ethos is underpinned by the values of Co Production, levelling power dynamics and amplifying the voices that are seldom heard.
