Andrew (He/Him) is a Diversity and Inclusion lead and a LGBTQI+ activist and speaker. After qualifying as a Social Worker, Andrew has worked for the past 20 years in the social field, not-for-profit, voluntary and charity sectors, both in Malta and the UK; has achieved a Level 6 Certificate in Leading Diversity, Inclusion, and Organisational Culture, and a Management Foundations Certificate. His passion and purpose is to support others in bringing their true selves to fore, in creating inclusive and fair opportunities for all, and making a difference.
Andrew has experience working with the LGBTQI+ community, disability (learning and physical), mental health (community and residential), substance misuse (drug and alcohol), homeless support, supported housing, victims of crime and trauma, domestic violence, and international students. He currently is the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion HR Lead for a NHS Mental Health Trust, and a Pride 365 Champion.
Andrew is an experienced Chair; currently chairing four value-led committees, and has previously chaired a London-wide Diversity and Inclusion committee and a UK-wide LGBT+ staff network which was highly commended by Stonewall UK. He also was the International Concert Director for Europe’s longest running LGBT+ choir, and has vast event planning and delivery expertise, including organising a yearly student global leadership conference.
Over the years, Andrew has established a diverse experience in developing and delivering a variety of training sessions ranging from Diversity and Inclusion, LGBTQI+, minorities issues, pronouns and preferred names, mentoring, staff motivation, sex education for people with disabilities, community rehabilitation skills, social skills, emergency planning, and sustainability amongst many others.
