Mapping project: Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Mental health services

The project

Diverse Matters is undertaking research into Mental Health Service provision for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities in the Black Country Region in the West Midlands for Black Country and West Birmingham STP Healthier Futures.

The purpose of the research is to achieve the following:

  • To undertake a mapping exercise of existing mental health service provision for Black
Asian and Minority Ethnic communities living and working in the Black Country region.
  • To develop a report on the findings and identify any gaps in service provision detailing
any recommendations to improve service provision.
  • To produce a directory of services on offer for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic staff
working in the region and their families.
  • To achieve this, we are approaching organisations that provide mental health and wellbeing services regarding their provision so we can review services available.

We would appreciate your support in achieving this and if you could take the time to complete a survey this would help us to provide a valuable and comprehensive directory to support Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic communities.

Please click the below link to complete the survey. The survey should take approximately 15 minutes and your completion will really help in providing key information and raise awareness and issues in supporting Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic minorities who require mental health and wellbeing services.

Focus groups

There is also an additional option of taking part in a focus group. If your team (staff/volunteers) involved in delivery of mental health services to Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic services would like take part in a focus group to share your views on services, gaps in provision, issues you have addressed when delivering services, we would love to hear from you. Please email hello@diversematters.co.uk and we can arrange this.
